(Ad|Review) Moonpig Gift Delivery - Christmas Across The Miles

Christmas is all a bit of an unknown at the moment, we are unlikely to be able to do all of those things we usually do. Any of us might have loved ones who we won't see in person, and Moonpig are ideal for our seasonal messages. They really don't just deliver cards and flowers, they sell a HUGE range of gifts, and they've sent me a selection to review, plus a voucher to do some shopping of my own...

I've got 4 grown up children now at University, and the nearest relatives are 80 miles away, so online gifts delivered to their door are ideal for us. Moonpig wrap everything individually in really quite attractive, yet totally recyclable card. You get to open all of your presents, just the same as you would ordinarily.

Two parcels Moonpig easy open cardboard packaging

The cardboard packaging has tear off strips, so it's easy to open, and any packing aside from card is also biodegradable. I love the message "Delivery for someone very special." Having these parcels to open DOES make me feel very special.  Who doesn't love presents through the post? And it's my birthday this week.... as chance would have it...

Christmas Present Giveaway! Jibbergiggle Family Game (age 8+) from Gamely Games

Jibbergiggle is a 3-8 player family card game for anyone aged 8+, and trust me, it's far more fun than you might at first realise. Players take a Jibbergiggle Sound Card and a Scenario Card, and try to get the other players to guess your scenario - when the only sounds you can make are the nonsense words written on your Sound Card....

Christmas Present Giveaway! Jibbergiggle Family Game (age 8+) from Gamely Games

Gamely Games sent us a copy earlier this year, so we did our review of Jibbergiggle back in August, and I really liked the simplicity. You can play instantly and there are no tricky rules to learn.

I was pleasantly surprised in that it isn't as 'daft' as it first sounds, it really is a skill game and you improve with play. It encourages imagination, concentration and focus - you really need to pay attention to the acting player if you want to be the one to guess correctly!

Quirk! The Family Card Game With A Difference! Age 5+ (Sent for review).

Independent Toy Manufacturer Emmerse Studios have sent us 2 of their new Quirk! Card Game packs to take a look at. Suitable for up to 6 players aged 5+, Quirk! promises to be a very different sort of game which is funny and easy to play, and accepts you for being totally odd. In fact they encourage it...

We've been sent Original Quirk! and Quirk! Legends to review. Each pack contains Instructions and 56 Cards including:
39 Character Cards (13 different characters).
7 Tactic Cards
7 Skip Cards
3 Defence Cards

This is an ideal travel game as everything is contained within the pack of cards. The aim of the game is to collect Quirks. A Quirk is a group of 3 matching Character Cards. The person with the most Quirks at the end is the winner.

Fletter Game Review - Fast-Paced Tabletop Card Word Game For Age 8+

Our latest game review is the tabletop card game, Fletter. A quick fire word game for 2-4 players , using 110 specially designed cards. Fletter is easily portable and a great game for taking away with you. Recommended for age 8+, although the letter cards are also brilliant for younger family members to practise their spellings or even learn their letters.

Retro Top Trumps - Which Packs Would You Bring Back?

Top Trumps have been popular here for as long as I can remember. My young boys still play with some of their older sibling's sets, and they have a few of their own too. I picked up brand new Despicable Me 3 and Marvel Avengers Assemble packs at BlogOn last weekend, but it was the Retro Packs which really caught my eye!

If you haven't ever played Top Trumps, you've missed out. An incredibly simple game which anyone aged around 4-5 or older can play, straight out of the box, it really is as simple as comparing cards and saying who's is best!

Today is #HugABearDay With Hallmark Cards And Gifts

Today 7th November is Hug A Bear Day! My boys might like their rough and tumble, but who doesn't love a hug? All mammals hug and snuggle, and humans are particularly good at it. Each hug can lengthen your potential lifespan, lower your blood pressure and relieve stress. It's also a great way to show someone you care.

Other people aren't always around, and teddy bears as we know them have been an important part everyone's life since the early 1900's, although there's plenty of evidence to suggest soft cuddly toys have been protecting children while they sleep for the last 2000 years or more.
