LOGO and LOGO What Am I? from Drumond Park Review

LOGO Drumond Park Box What Am I?

We've previously reviewed LOGO Billionaire and LOGO Best Of TV & Movies, but I'd only played LOGO itself a few times at friends' houses before and hadn't tried LOGO What Am I? We were sent both games to review, and we've had a real laugh with them.

LOGO (rrp £32.99) is the original in a series of games from Drumond Park. Designed for 2-6 players aged 12+ it's a really easy game to grasp, and the rules are very simple.

LOGO Family Board Games adults and teenagers

The aim of LOGO is to travel around the board answering trivia questions about brands and companies that we're all very familiar with.

LOGO Drumond PARk Playing surface

Individual question cards might be themed, or pot luck, or will all be based on a photo or series of photos.

Question cards LOGO

On the back of each question card are  4 questions with answers. Players take it in turns to be question master, asking the player to their left the questions until they get one wrong, when they instead ask the next player. Every time a question is answered correctly the player moves their counter to the next available section of board with a matching colour, until they reach the centre, when they must answer 2 questions correctly consecutively to win.

LOGO example question cards

We play this with our teenagers and it's a real laugh, as well as teaching us some bizarre and probably useless trivia! It's ideal for family evenings in and we found although the adults win most of the time, it's close - in another year or so I'll have no chance. The questions are mainly so obvious once you see or hear the answer, they don't require academic knowledge, just general knowledge and you have to have paid attention to the world around you!

LOGO What Am I? Drumond Park

LOGO What Am I? (rrp £24.99) is a junior version of LOGO that is suitable for 3-6 players and age 8+. We played it with everyone, with the younger boys working as team players with us. Our 5 year old has trouble with the reading, but grasped the gameplay almost instantly despite being too young.

Again played by moving around the board, LOGO What Am I? isn't about trivia and doesn't have questions. Instead play is by each player in turn throwing a die and then completing a challenge on the card. They have to get the other players to guess what they are describing or drawing.

Drumond Park LOGO Board Game Review What Am I?

Depending on where you land on the board you take a card and may have to describe the brand or product without using the name, draw a picture for the other players to guess, or simply answer questions with 'yes, no or maybe' until the brand or product is guessed correctly.

LOGO What Am I? is a timed game, everyone gets 1 minute to try and get the other players to guess correctly. If they do then both the person who guessed and the person holding the card move forward. There are 2 winners. When the question answered is held by the player in the centre Winning Zone, both players involved win.

This is a great game for the bringing the family together, especially when you want something for teenagers and pre-teens to play on an even level with the adults. Our 5 year old is obviously below the recommended age, and didn't really grasp the 'yes/no' aspect and always asked the same questions, but as part of a team with his Dad they won more than anyone else. Everyone knows what ketchup is - however old.

We really liked both games and they'll be back out on Saturday for games night. Neither are frustrating or leave room for arguments to develop. They are great games to play on your own, or in pairs if necessary, and are suitable to play with the older generations together. It's real family fun.

Drumond Park have recently released a FREE LOGO app.  for iPhone and iPad, which is available to download here from the Apple store. The only officially endorsed LOGO app., it has full approval and permissions from the brands and features loads of big name favourites such as Birds Eye, Wagon Wheels, Tesco and Campbell's.

Drumond Park kindly offered copies of both LOGO and LOGO What Am I? for me to giveaway to one of my readers. One lucky winner won both prizes worth nearly £60. The giveaway closed at midnight on 30th April 2014.

Rapidough Family Game Review and Christmas Giveaway Age 8+ (Sent By Drumond Park)

One of my final Christmas Present Giveaways for 2018 is from my good friends at Drumond Park, and it's for Rapidough - a family favourite here for years.

Suitable for 4 or more players aged 8+, this is a very funny family game which involves recreating items shown on a card in dough - and like a good cheese, it matures as your family gets older...

We really like this game and have played it a lot over the years, including reviewing it in early 2015 with my younger children. What I can tell you now is that it gets better as your family grows up. Models become more complex and gameplay speeds up.

Drumond Park's 'LOGO Best Of British' review and giveaway

I've got a great review and giveaway today courtesy of Drumond Park. LOGO: Best Of British is a real 'you know it or you don't' kind of board game. General knowledge rules and you'll find you are kicking yourself all night about answers that were on the tip of your tongue.

Family board game night teenagers and adults

Best Of British is from the LOGO family of games and can be played as individuals or teams. It has some very tricky general knowledge questions, so is recommended for young people and adults aged 12+. The regular LOGO board game and question card style is very familiar to us because we've played and reviewed several LOGO games over the past couple of years.

Rattle Me Bones game from Drumond Park (age 5+) Review and Giveaway

Rattle Me Bones is one of this Summer's new Drumond Park games, and it's quickly become a favourite in our house - particularly with the younger 2 boys. It has a nostalgic feel and is nicely made with a pirate treasure theme - who wouldn't love trying to steal an old pirate's treasure!

The game is suitable for 2-4 players aged 5 and up, and the rules are simple. Spin the spinner to see which colour treasure you are allowed to attempt to steal.

Dino Bite game (age 4+) from Drumond Park review and giveaway

Drumond Park are one of our favourite games manufacturers and this one is very different! Designed for 2-4 players aged 4+ there is no board, there are no counters, no timer. Instead we have a snarling spring-loaded dinosaur and a whole nest full of baby dinosaurs that you are trying to pinch!

Drumond Park's Dinobite only requires 2 minutes assembly. Attach the dinosaur to the main part of the model and insert  2 x AA batteries, switch it on and you are ready to go. The batteries power the sound, which plays dinosaur style jungle noises throughout, and the timing to release the dinosaur.

Word Bandit from Drumond Park (age 8+) Review and Giveaway (sent for review).

This month Drumond Park have sent us a copy of Word Bandit to review. Suitable for 2 teams with any number of players, this is a word game which really caught the attention of my 8 year old. Recommended for age 8+, Word Bandit takes traditional pencil and paper word games and upgrades them, with the addition of a unique one-armed bandit.

There is very little plastic packaging, no assembly, no batteries and you can have the box open and be playing in under 5 minutes. Set up takes no time at all, even before first play you only have to add the sticker to the bandit front. Entirely Christmas morning-friendly.

Word Bandit is a fast-paced word game where players have to make words and initials using a selection of letters given to them at random by the Word Bandit machine. The machine is well made and works perfectly. It's a little light, so you do have to hold it still as you pull the arm.

Drumond Park Barbeque Party Review and Giveaway

It's August, barbeque season is in full swing. Up and down the UK there are people who haven't created anything more complex than 'toast for 2' in the last year, attempting to sufficiently cook a full meal for 30 in the pouring rain, using nothing more than a small fire, a large fork and a comedy apron. But somehow, it's always good...

Drumond Park's Barbeque Party thankfully has weather-resistant plastic food - which isn't burnt to a crisp on the outside and raw in the middle. The barbeque itself is also somewhat cuter...

King Pong Game Review (age 8+) and Giveaway for Drumond Park

The Summer is over but it's not all bad news, game season is back! One of Drumond Park's newest releases is King Pong, a very active game for 2-4 players aged 8+. This is one that'll get the couch potatoes sitting up and joining in...

Inside the box is everything you'll need, and you do have to assemble this one yourself. Much like the game Crazy Claw there is a cube formed from clear plastic with a solid base, corner pillars and top. Then the pyramid fits neatly into the centre. It'll take about 10 minutes maximum - it's a newer design and much better, less fiddly than Crazy Claw.

Don't Laugh! Electronic Board Game from Drumond Park Giveaway

Don't Laugh! is the latest board game we've been sent to review by Drumond Park. Aimed at young people aged 8+, the winner(s) will be those who manage not to laugh!

The game is played on a board with up to 4 players or teams of players. Every time it's your turn you take a joke card from the centre of the board, read a joke and try to make your opponents laugh.

You also have the option to press buttons on the dummy microphone to make crazy noises, depending on where your counter is on the board. The noises include laughing, farting and my favourite - saying silly phrases.

There's a timer on the microphone, and for anyone who laughs or cracks a smile (depending on how strict you are), you move a space forward. The first person or team to reach the final space on the board is the winner.

We've played in teams and as individuals, and I prefer teams. The more people who play, the easier it is to get a contagious laugh and score well. The game is open to variation, which is excellent. We've played with 8 players in 4 teams and scoring a 6 really boosts your points!

Don't Laugh! is not my personal favourite Drumond Park game. As an adult you have to be in the right mood to play, or it can fall flat. There are 200 joke cards with 6 jokes on each, and they are Christmas Crackerish and by my age I've heard a lot of them before.

I think Don't Laugh! will definitely work best with young groups of friends, and having pre-teen children playing who haven't heard any of the jokes before really is a bonus. The suggested age group of 8+ is right, and it's 8-12 year olds who will get most from this game, and those who play with them. As children reach that stage where they really understand the concept of jokes is absolutely ideal to buy them Don't Laugh!

We found that with teens and adults most of the really big laughs came when a card was read wrongly, a 'deadpan expression' made someone look daft,  or a joke was so bad that someone complained - but however it happens, a laugh is still a laugh!

Don't Laugh! has an RRP of £19.99 and, as with all Drumond Park games, is available from a multitude of toy retailers including Amazon, Tesco, ASDA, Entertainer, John Lewis, Smyths, WH Smith, Toys R Us and Toymaster.

We were sent our copy of Don't Laugh! for review, and Drumond Park have kindly offered another copy as a prize to one of my readers.

Entry is by rafflecopter below. The first question is mandatory and should be answered as a comment on this post. Extra entries can be gained by completing more tasks. UK entries only. The giveaway will end at midnight on Saturday 21st June when no more entries will be accepted. More Terms and Conditions are shown at the bottom of the rafflecopter form.

Electronic Sshh! Don't Wake Dad! from Drumond Park Review

It's been far too long, but we're back with a new review for Drumond Park and we've been sent Sshh! Don't Wake Dad!, a battery-operated board game for 2-4 players aged around 5+.

The aim of the game is to move your counter around the board, even across the 3D Dad's tummy, until you reach the fridge where you can pinch a very tempting slice of cake. Be careful though, if you disturb Dad as you go past then he'll wake up with a jump and you'll have to return to the start...

LOGO Grab game from Drumond Park review and giveaway

It's been a long while since we've played any games, and LOGO Grab was a great one to come back to. With the tagline 'Roll, Spot and Grab', it's a nice simple card game for age 8+ where being alert and quick will make you the winner.

LOGO Grab game from Drummond Park box contents

LOGO Grab can be played individually or in 2-4 teams. 9 cards from the top of the pile are placed face upwards in the middle of the table. Each player or team is given 2 additional cards. The aim of the game is to collect 2 groups of 3 cards from the same set.

Stoopido From Drumond Park Family Game Review And Giveaway(8+)

Drumond Park are releasing some new games this Autumn, and we've been sent an advance copy of one of them, Stoopido, to review. Released on 29th August, Stoopido is a family game for 2-4 players aged 8+, and quite rightly describes itself as 'the game of 1000 silly faces'.

When you open the box you have an entire dressing up box full of mask parts and it does take a little putting together, so allow 10 minutes before you start.

Drumond Park LOGO Lite Review

My latest review for Drumond Park is LOGO Lite. A family game for 2-4 players aged around 12+. This is a LOGO game with a difference though, because the LOGO Lite version is boardless, instead using a clever circular spinner to hold the counters needed to win the game. Without a board this is around half the size of a standard game box.

Inside the box even the spinner comes apart to save space. This is a much more portable game that is great to take with you when you are visiting friends and family.

SSshh! Don’t Wake Dad! Board Game Giveaway from Drumond Park (age 5+)

Last March we reviewed Sshh! Don't Wake Dad! for Drumond Park and it's remained a favourite all year. This is a board game with a twist in the shape of a sleeping animated Dad, who snores his way through the game and makes everyone jump whenever he is accidentally woken by the sneaky cake thief...

You can find my full review of Sshh! Don't Wake Dad! here, but gameplay is very simple. Players use a spinner to move along the track that snakes across the board, heading for the fridge and the delicious treats it holds. Each square you land on is a risk and you can get sent back to the start quite easily.
